South Carolina Republicans are advancing a mid-decade congressional map redraw that targets the state's sole Democratic-held seat in the 6th district, where long-serving incumbent Jim Clyburn faces a June 9 Democratic primary. Recent legislative progress, including committee advancement and a reported call from President Trump to state senators, has raised the prospect of shifting the district's partisan balance ahead of the November general election. Traders appear to weigh these redistricting developments as the dominant near-term catalyst, elevating the Republican nominee's implied odds despite the seat's historical Democratic lean and D+13 Cook Partisan Voter Index. With the general election still months away, any final map approval or legal challenges could further adjust probabilities before voters decide.
