Recent National Weather Service and private forecasts for San Francisco on September 5, 2026, converge on an overnight low in the upper 50s Fahrenheit, directly supporting the market's heaviest weighting toward the 58–59°F bin. Persistent onshore flow from the Pacific maintains a moderating marine layer that prevents temperatures from dropping below seasonal norms near 56°F, while clear to partly cloudy skies and light westerly winds limit radiational cooling. Historical data show September 5 lows averaging 56.1°F with rare excursions below 52°F, reinforcing trader consensus that colder outcomes remain unlikely absent an unexpected shift in the upper-level pattern. Updated model runs through the evening will refine the exact minimum before official observations close the market.
