Latest National Weather Service and model guidance for Seattle on September 5 point to mostly cloudy conditions with a moderate chance of light showers or drizzle, limiting solar heating and keeping the daily high near 68–70°F. Persistent marine layer influence from the Puget Sound, combined with light northerly winds and higher humidity around 65–80%, suppresses peak temperatures below the September climatological average of 73°F. These factors explain the market’s concentration on the 66–71°F outcomes, where small shifts in cloud cover or timing of any precipitation could tip the result between the closely matched 68–69°F and 70–71°F bins. Updated model runs and afternoon observations remain key ahead of resolution.
