Ksenia Efremova enters this Strasbourg qualifying opener as a 17-year-old French wildcard ranked No. 623, while Oleksandra Oliynykova sits at No. 68 with a 9-7 record in 2026 and three recent ITF titles. The red-clay surface favors the higher-ranked Ukrainian’s consistent baseline game and experience at this level, though Efremova’s home-country wildcard and youth could provide early momentum. Recent form shows Oliynykova winning four of her last six matches on clay, while Efremova has mixed results in lower-tier events. The matchup pits a rising junior against a proven mid-tier pro in a best-of-three format where the first set often proves decisive on slow courts. No major injuries or withdrawals have been reported ahead of the scheduled 9:40 a.m. start.
