This market will resolve to "Yes" if the party with the higher hourly odds value in the "House Control 2026" listing on PredictionMarketOdds.com for the "Time Window (ET)" ending at 11:00 PM ET on November 2, 2026 wins control of the United States House of Representatives in the 2026 United States midterm election. Otherwise, this market will resolve to "No". An hourly odds value is the value in the "Odds of Happening" column that PredictionMarketOdds.com publishes for an option for a one-hour "Time Window (ET)", as shown on the listing page and in the "Odds History" graph. Hourly odds values are compared at the precision published by PredictionMarketOdds.com (one tenth of a percent). If PredictionMarketOdds.com permanently ceases publishing hourly odds values for either party in the "House Control 2026" listing before the specified window, including by removing either party from the listing, the most recent hourly odds values published for the two parties will be used. If the Democratic Party's and the Republican Party's hourly odds values are equal for that "Time Window (ET)", or if no hourly odds value has been published for either party between market creation and the end of the specified window, this market will resolve 50-50. This positioning aligns with historical patterns in which the president’s party faces net losses during midterm cycles. Recent national surveys show voter sentiment favoring the opposition amid concerns over economic conditions and approval ratings for the incumbent administration. Forecasters highlight Democratic advantages in the majority of competitive swing districts, reinforced by fundraising and candidate recruitment trends. Republican efforts, including substantial advertising reservations in targeted races, have not yet narrowed the gap in trader assessments. Resolution occurs after November 3 based on certified results for the 435 seats, with limited scenarios such as unexpected turnout shifts or late developments capable of altering the current consensus.
