Denton County's outcome in the 2026 Texas U.S. Senate general election remains tightly balanced because the county sits in the Dallas-Fort Worth suburbs, where shifting voter turnout and partisan consolidation could determine the winner between Republican nominee Ken Paxton and Democratic nominee James Talarico. Recent statewide polling averages place the two candidates within a few points of each other, with no clear edge in suburban areas like Denton that have shown mixed primary results and moderate Republican advantages in earlier 2026 voting. Paxton's strong performance in the Republican runoff and recent attacks on Talarico's consulting work have not yet produced a decisive county-level shift, while Talarico's fundraising and base mobilization keep the contest competitive. Minor-party and write-in candidates listed in the market add further dispersion of support, sustaining the even trader pricing ahead of November 3.
