Recent National Weather Service and model guidance for Austin on September 7 points to a high in the upper 90s under partly cloudy skies, light southerly flow, and dew points supporting heat indices above 105°F. This setup keeps the 96–99°F bins tightly bunched near 25% each, while the 100–101°F range trails slightly at 24%. Subtle differences in afternoon mixing, boundary-layer moisture, and shortwave timing across ensemble runs create the spread, with historical September 7 averages near 93°F and a 106°F record from 2023 providing climatological context. Updated NHC and local model guidance over the next 48 hours will likely refine these probabilities ahead of resolution.
