Forecast models from the National Weather Service and other agencies currently indicate a high near 96–98°F for Austin on September 6, with partly cloudy skies and only a slight afternoon storm chance that is unlikely to suppress daytime maxima. This aligns with the market’s leading 96–97°F bin at 41% implied probability. Persistent above-normal temperatures across central Texas, following recent highs near 100–103°F, and elevated humidity supporting heat indices above 105°F reinforce trader focus on the upper 90s. The September 6 climatological average high stands at 93.4°F, yet the ongoing warm pattern and limited cooling mechanisms keep lower outcomes under 20% combined. Updated NWS guidance and short-range model runs over the next 48 hours represent the key near-term catalysts.
