Recent forecasts from global and regional models indicate Cape Town could reach a daily maximum near 28–30°C on September 22, driven by springtime warming, lighter winds, and reduced marine influence compared with typical southeasterly flow. September 2026 has already featured above-average warmth, including a 30.7°C peak earlier in the month, while long-term climatology places the September 22 average high near 18–20°C. Cloud cover, possible scattered showers, and minor shifts in wind direction introduce uncertainty in the precise peak, with model spreads accounting for the closely bunched market-implied probabilities around 30–33°C. Updated official guidance from the South African Weather Service and next model cycles will likely refine these thresholds ahead of resolution.
