Trader sentiment for Chicago's September 19 high temperature reflects tight clustering around 69–73°F amid NWS forecasts of 71–72°F under widespread showers and thunderstorms. Persistent cloud cover, southeasterly flow, and high precipitation probabilities (near 100%) are suppressing daytime heating relative to the late-September climatological average near 75°F. Ensemble model spreads and variable rain timing create genuine uncertainty in peak values, with cooler outcomes possible if storms arrive earlier or are heavier. Upcoming NWS updates and radar trends ahead of the 24-hour window will likely refine the market-implied odds between these closely matched bins.
