Official National Weather Service forecasts project a high near 95°F for Atlanta on September 19 under mostly sunny conditions, with afternoon thunderstorm chances of 40% or higher potentially modulating the peak. This places the market's leading 92-93°F and 94-95°F bins as the core range, reflecting uncertainty in convective timing and any associated cooling or cloud cover that could hold the maximum to the low 90s. Persistent unseasonable warmth, running 10-15°F above the 82-84°F September climatological average, stems from a strong ridge favoring southerly flow and high dew points that boost heat indices near 99°F. Updated model runs and NWS briefings ahead of the afternoon heating window will refine these thresholds.
