This aligns closely with climatological averages for late May and recent model guidance from NOAA, which had projected highs near 87–88°F without any strong frontal passages or tropical moisture influx. Traders rapidly converged on the 88–89°F bin as the resolution data became available, reflecting the low uncertainty typical for short-range temperature markets once actual measurements are confirmed. Revised station reports or alternative measurement protocols remain the only realistic scenarios that could shift the outcome, though such changes are historically rare for this location.
