Persistent cloud cover, scattered showers, and above-average rainfall across São Paulo on September 12 have suppressed daytime heating, keeping observed afternoon temperatures near 19–23 °C according to multiple station reports and model consensus. September 2026 has already run 7.5 °C below the long-term mean, with persistent southerly flow and high humidity limiting insolation and preventing the typical 25–27 °C September maxima. These conditions align with the market’s heavy weighting toward a 20 °C peak (67.5 % implied probability), while the modest 21 °C and sub-19 °C options reflect remaining uncertainty in final hourly readings and any late-day clearing. Updated INMET and regional model runs released this morning will provide the last inputs before resolution.
