Forecast models from sources including the GFS and regional guidance point to a September 13 high in Shanghai near 29–30 °C under partly cloudy skies, light to moderate northeast winds, and stable high pressure that limits both daytime heating and cloud cover. This aligns with the market’s heaviest weighting on 29 °C, as current surface observations and short-range runs show little potential for stronger warming or significant cooling. September climatology places typical maxima around 27 °C, so the modest above-average signal stems from persistent warm advection rather than anomalous conditions. Traders appear to price in remaining model spread and possible minor forecast adjustments before the daily maximum is recorded.
