**Persistent cloud cover, high humidity, and widespread showers or thunderstorms overnight are the main drivers keeping NYC's expected low temperature clustered in the 70–73°F range for September 13.** Official National Weather Service guidance from the New York office projects lows of 68–69°F at major airports and around 68°F in Central Park, while several private models and ensemble runs trend slightly warmer near 70–72°F due to limited radiational cooling under overcast skies and steady onshore flow. The close split in market-implied odds between 70–71°F and 72–73°F reflects minor differences in forecast timing of heaviest rain and boundary-layer moisture retention, which can suppress overnight drops by 2–4°F compared with clearer conditions. A modest chance of localized clearing or stronger winds could allow readings to dip toward 68–69°F, but current model consensus favors the warmer side of that narrow band.
