Safe Superintelligence Inc. (SSI), the lab founded by former OpenAI chief scientist Ilya Sutskever, has maintained a near-total blackout on public releases since its 2024 launch, releasing no models, APIs, papers, or demos as of mid-August 2026. Trader sentiment for its first public model release centers on an unverified August 2026 timeline floated by investor Gavin Baker, contrasted with SSI’s stated “straight-shot” mission to develop safe superintelligence without interim products. A July NVIDIA partnership expanding compute access represents the main confirmed infrastructure development, yet competitive pressure from frequent frontier model drops by OpenAI, Google DeepMind, and Anthropic has not altered SSI’s low-profile approach. Key near-term catalysts include any official announcement before September or October resolution dates, alongside potential regulatory scrutiny on frontier AI deployment.

A qualifying model must be an AI model released by SSI or associated with SSI and confirmed as such by SSI or by a consensus of credible reporting.
For this market to resolve to "Yes," a qualifying model must be launched and publicly accessible, including via open beta or open rolling waitlist signups. A closed beta or any form of private access will not suffice.
The release must be either clearly defined and publicly announced by SSI as being accessible to the general public or otherwise made publicly accessible and explicitly labeled within the company’s official website. Labeling errors, placeholder text, or version names displayed on the website that do not correspond to a model that is actually accessible to the general public will not qualify.
The primary resolution source for this market will be official information from SSI; however, a consensus of credible reporting will also be used.
