**Trump’s approval rating has remained near record lows around 33-40% in recent national polls amid the six-month mark of the U.S.-Israel conflict with Iran, elevated gasoline prices, and related economic pressures.** The Reuters/Ipsos survey conducted August 21-24 showed 33% approval and 65% disapproval, consistent with other trackers placing net approval near -19 to -26. Recent developments include the president’s statements that the U.S. is “winning very big” without a fixed timeline for resolution, an executive order renaming Lake Ontario amid a trade dispute with Canada, and appeals related to mail voting rules. Aggregates such as those from Nate Silver and RealClearPolitics indicate a modest stabilization or slight rebound from prior lows. These factors, combined with the absence of major new negative catalysts in the immediate prior days, underpin the 65.5% implied probability that approval will register higher this week than the prior period.
