Israel is scheduled to hold Knesset elections on October 27, 2026. This market will resolve to "Yes" if the Knesset votes to express confidence in a new government by December 31, 2026, 11:59 PM ET. Otherwise, this market will resolve to "No". A vote will qualify only if it passes and the new government is constituted. A vote that is held but fails will not qualify. A motion of no confidence in an existing government will not qualify. The continuation in office of the outgoing caretaker government will not be considered. The primary resolution source for this market will be official information from the Knesset; however, a consensus of credible reporting may also be used.Recent Israeli election polls show the pro-Netanyahu and opposition Zionist blocs nearly tied around 53 seats each, well short of the 61-seat majority needed to form a stable coalition after the October 27 Knesset vote, leaving Arab parties with the balance of power. The current caretaker government requires a successful vote of confidence to install any new administration once negotiations conclude. Traders appear to price in a reasonable chance that coalition talks, potentially including minority arrangements or cross-bloc understandings, wrap up in time for Knesset approval before year-end, consistent with historical patterns of post-election government formation in Israel despite fragmentation. President Isaac Herzog has signaled efforts to avoid further delays or repeat elections.
