Amazon shares have traded near $240 during the week of June 8, 2026, after retreating more than 10% from May highs near $278 amid elevated capital expenditures for AI data centers and infrastructure. First-quarter results delivered 17% revenue growth to $181.5 billion and robust AWS expansion, yet investors remain focused on free-cash-flow pressure from the planned $200 billion-plus 2026 CapEx program. With the next earnings release scheduled for late July, traders are weighing ongoing AI investment momentum against margin dilution risks and broader equity-market rotation out of high-valuation growth names.
