This market will resolve to the continental confederation whose nations record the most total goals through all main tournament rounds of the 2026 FIFA World Cup competition. Only goals scored during regular time, stoppage time, or extra time count. Only goals credited on FIFA’s official scoresheet will count. Penalty shootout goals do not count. Own goals do not count toward the final total. In the event of a tie, this market will resolve according to the official leader as determined by FIFA World Cup rules. If multiple leaders are announced then this market will resolve to the continent that conceded fewer total goals. If a tie still persists, this market will resolve to the continent that is listed first alphabetically. If the 2026 FIFA World Cup competition is cancelled, postponed after August 2, 2026, 11:59 PM ET, or there is otherwise no official leader declared within that timeframe, this market will resolve to “Other”. The resolution source for this market will be official information from FIFA; however, a consensus of credible reporting may also be used.UEFA's allocation of 16 slots in the 48-team 2026 field, paired with the continent's concentration of elite attacking depth and historical tournament scoring volume, underpins the 95% trader consensus. European squads routinely advance deep into knockout stages, generating high-volume matches against varied opposition while maintaining strong goal differentials. CONMEBOL's fewer entries and the limited slots for AFC, CAF, and CONCACAF sides constrain their aggregate output despite individual standouts. Scenarios that could narrow the gap include an unusually high number of early UEFA eliminations, exceptional runs by multiple South American sides reaching the later rounds with elevated scoring rates, or expanded playing time for non-European teams in a format that rewards upsets. Weather, travel across North American venues, and fixture congestion remain secondary variables unlikely to override the structural disparity.
