Erling Haaland enters the 2026 World Cup as Norway's focal striker following a dominant qualifying campaign that included 16 goals across eight matches to secure the nation's first appearance since 1998. Drawn into a challenging Group I with France, Senegal, and Iraq, Norway faces limited scoring chances unless it advances from the group stage, where Haaland's clinical finishing and aerial presence will be tested against elite defenses. Supporting cast members like Martin Ødegaard provide creative service, while Haaland's club workload at Manchester City and any lingering fitness considerations from the Premier League season could affect his match sharpness and minutes. The expanded 48-team format offers more games for in-form attackers, but early elimination remains a realistic barrier to high goal tallies.
