Felix Gill enters the Roland Garros qualifying opener as the stronger contender against Aziz Dougaz on the clay courts in Paris, backed by a significantly higher ranking near the top 150 and a stronger 2026 win rate exceeding 65 percent. Gill has posted consistent results across recent Challenger events on clay, including victories in Francavilla and Ostrava, while maintaining solid form heading into the Grand Slam qualifier. Dougaz, ranked around 666 with a career high of 185, has shown limited success this season with just one win from his last four outings and a lower overall win percentage. Their first head-to-head meeting adds uncertainty, though Gill’s experience and recent momentum on the surface give him a clearer edge in what remains a competitive early-round clash where ranking points and main-draw advancement are at stake.
