Jesper de Jong enters the Roland Garros qualifying second round as the top seed with a strong clay-court foundation, having advanced past Sun Fajing in straight tiebreaks after recent ATP-level appearances in Madrid and Rome. The Dutch player holds a superior recent record on the surface and benefits from Challenger success that highlights consistent form heading into Grand Slam qualifying. Liam Draxl, ranked lower and coming off limited clay exposure this season, faces a tough stylistic matchup despite his earlier head-to-head win on hard courts. Both competitors bring solid recent win-loss marks outside the top 100, but de Jong’s experience navigating qualifying draws and higher career-high ranking position him as the market favorite in this best-of-three encounter on the slow Paris clay.
