Forecast consensus from National Weather Service and private models positions 78-79°F as the leading outcome for New York City’s daily maximum on September 16, with partly cloudy skies, light southerly flow, and high pressure maintaining mild conditions without significant advection of cooler or warmer air masses. Ensemble guidance clusters around 76-80°F, consistent with the September 16 climatological average high of 76.3°F and recent model runs showing limited diurnal heating under broken cloud cover. Trader emphasis on the 78-79°F bin reflects this tight distribution, while lower-probability bins capture residual uncertainty from minor variations in boundary-layer mixing or localized urban heat effects. Updated NWS briefings and final observational data from Central Park will resolve the market.
