Recent National Weather Service forecasts and ensemble model guidance indicate a high in the low-to-mid 80s°F for New York City on September 17, driven by southerly flow and mostly cloudy conditions that limit daytime heating. This positions the 82-83°F outcome as the market leader at 42.5% implied probability, followed closely by the 80-81°F and 84-85°F bins, reflecting typical model spread in maximum temperature predictions. Afternoon dew points near 70°F and light winds will moderate peaks relative to clearer September analogs, while any earlier cloud break could push readings toward the upper end of the favored range. Updated NWS briefings and next model cycles over the next 48 hours remain the key near-term catalysts for shifts in trader positioning.
