SpaceX's Starship program continues to advance with the April 2026 unveiling of Starship V3, featuring redesigned spacecraft, an advanced Super Heavy booster, and Raptor 3 engines aimed at enabling full and rapid reuse. However, traders assign 70% odds against achieving operational full reusability—meaning repeated, rapid recovery and turnaround of both stages—before 2027 because of persistent challenges like upper-stage heat shield durability, precise tower catches, and propellant transfer reliability. The upcoming May 2026 Flight 12 test marks the first V3 flight but will forgo booster recovery attempts, underscoring that demonstrated rapid reuse remains a multi-flight milestone away. Historical test delays and the need for extensive certification further support the market's cautious consensus.
