As of late July 2026, roughly 30 deals totaling over $27 billion have been announced or advanced, centered on semiconductors, critical minerals, quantum technologies, and defense supply chains to reduce reliance on foreign production. Recent batches of letters of intent for six additional chip-related companies underscore the batch-processing approach now in place, while separate discussions have surfaced around potential stakes in AI firms such as OpenAI upon public listing. Traders monitoring resolution windows through 2026 or 2027 weigh the pace of remaining CHIPS R&D finalizations, Department of Defense mineral and nuclear-energy transactions, and any legislative or executive actions that could accelerate or constrain further ownership positions in strategic sectors.
