Forecast models from sources like the GFS and European ensembles point to a peak high of 34–35°C in Madrid on September 8 under clear skies, moderate southwesterly winds, and a building ridge of high pressure, following hotter conditions near 36–37°C on September 7. This aligns with the market’s strong weighting toward 35°C (53%) and 36°C (40.5%), reflecting trader assessment of limited further warming before a cooler air mass arrives. Historical September averages near 28°C provide context, while the current late-summer warmth stems from persistent anticyclonic conditions across Iberia. Official AEMET updates and refined model runs in the next 48 hours will likely tighten the range around these outcomes.
