Recent forecasts from NOAA and NWS models indicate overnight lows in the lower to mid-70s for Los Angeles on September 10 amid an ongoing extreme heat wave, with downtown highs recently exceeding 100°F. This has suppressed typical radiative cooling and elevated minimum temperatures well above the 1991–2020 September average low near 64°F, pushing the 76–77°F bin to a 69% market-implied probability. Marine layer development and patchy fog could introduce modest cooling toward 70–74°F in coastal zones, while persistent clear skies and urban heat retention support the secondary 82°F+ outcome at 36.5%. Official observations at LAX and downtown stations will resolve the market once the calendar day concludes.
