Julianne Moore has emerged as the clear market frontrunner for the 2027 Oscars Best Actress race, with traders assigning her a 64% implied probability driven by strong early buzz around her lead performance in Jesse Eisenberg’s musical dramedy “The Debut.” Recent Telluride screenings and her Golden Icon Award at the Zurich Film Festival have reinforced industry narrative around the film’s warm reception and Moore’s career-best comedic turn, positioning her ahead of competitors like Inde Navarrette in “Obsession” at 17%. Other names including Renate Reinsve, Sandra Hüller, and Virginie Efira trade in the single digits amid limited festival exposure so far. With nominations voting still months away and no guild or critics’ awards yet decided, the market reflects speculative positioning based on festival momentum rather than locked consensus, leaving room for shifts once additional 2026 releases screen and precursor results accumulate.
