Recent National Weather Service and model guidance point to a high near 68–70°F for San Francisco on September 5, aligning with the market’s leading 70-71°F bin at 44.5% implied probability. Persistent onshore westerly flow and a typical late-summer marine layer will moderate daytime heating along the coast, limiting inland-style warmth despite seasonal solar angles. Historical averages for the date sit at 70.1°F, with recent days showing similar 67–70°F readings under comparable synoptic patterns. Minor model spread in cloud cover and timing of any clearing could shift the peak by a degree or two, keeping the 68–73°F range dominant while lower or higher outcomes remain low-probability outliers. Updated NWS and high-resolution runs ahead of the date will refine the exact maximum.
