Hugo Dellien enters this French Open qualifying first-round matchup on clay with a clear ranking edge at No. 139 and greater experience at the Grand Slam level, including multiple prior Roland Garros appearances. The 32-year-old Bolivian has shown steady recent form, highlighted by a first-tour win at the 2026 Buenos Aires event and a 1-1 record through early clay swing activity. Sean Cuenin, a 22-year-old Frenchman ranked No. 381, arrives after a loss in the Shymkent Challenger and limited main-tour exposure. Dellien’s comfort on red clay and proven ability to navigate qualifier fields position him as the stronger candidate on paper, though Cuenin benefits from local familiarity and the unpredictable nature of early qualifying rounds.
