Adolfo Daniel Vallejo holds a decisive edge over Nicolas Alvarez Varona in their Valencia Challenger second-round matchup on red clay, reflected in trader consensus favoring the world No. 84 Paraguayan—fresh off a career-high ranking on May 4 following a 13-7 YTD record and a breakthrough at the Mutua Madrid Open, where he qualified and upset Grigor Dimitrov for his Masters 1000 debut win. Alvarez Varona, Spain's No. 469-ranked home contender, advanced via a gritty three-set R1 victory but enters with modest recent form after a career peak of No. 219 in 2022. First head-to-head; no reported injuries, though crowd support and surface familiarity could aid the underdog Spaniard against Vallejo's superior clay momentum.
