Recent polls for Berlin’s September 20 state election show a tight three-way contest at the top, with Die Linke, CDU, and AfD separated by just a few points and the CDU maintaining a narrow but consistent edge over the AfD. Latest surveys place the CDU between 18–20 percent and the AfD between 17–19 percent, reflecting the CDU’s stronger historical base in the capital, broader mainstream appeal, and the effects of its candidate change to Stefan Evers following the prior mayor’s withdrawal. The AfD has gained ground nationally and in some eastern states, yet remains behind the CDU in Berlin-specific data amid continued coalition exclusion by other parties. Trader consensus at 73 percent for the CDU therefore tracks the sustained polling differential and structural positioning ahead of election day.
