Recent forecasts from multiple models indicate Guangzhou will see a slight cooldown on September 21 under increasing cloud cover and scattered thunderstorms driven by a weakening subtropical high and approaching moisture, with consensus highs clustered near 33–35 °C. Diurnal heating before afternoon convection remains the key variable: earlier or lighter rain would allow peaks to reach 35–36 °C, while heavier or earlier precipitation could suppress the maximum closer to 34 °C. Official Chinese meteorological guidance notes 33–35 °C for the region amid 60–80 % rain probability, and historical September analogs show similar setups rarely exceed 36 °C once widespread showers develop. Traders appear to price this narrow scientific uncertainty between the two leading outcomes.
