The 36-year-old Lu brings greater experience and consistency on the surface, with a 2026 record of 15-12 that includes solid hard-court results, while the 18-year-old Zhu has shown promise in lower-tier events but faces a steep step up against a veteran who has reached career-high rankings in the 160s. Recent form favors Lu’s steadier baseline game and ability to handle pressure in domestic events, though Zhu’s youth and developing power could create opportunities if she maintains aggressive play and capitalizes on any unforced errors from her opponent. Home-soil scheduling and hard-court familiarity remain neutral factors for both players.
