Forecast models from sources including the National Weather Service and private providers show Seattle overnight lows on September 6–7 settling in the mid-50s°F, aligning with the market’s tight clustering around 54–57°F bins. Light southerly winds, increasing cloud cover during the night, and typical marine moderation from Puget Sound limit radiative cooling compared to clearer inland sites. Historical climatology places the September 7 average low at 54.5°F, providing context for why traders assign low probability to sub-52°F or 58°F+ outcomes. Minor model spread in cloud timing and boundary-layer mixing creates the near-even split between the two leading ranges, with resolution hinging on the precise minimum recorded at official stations.
