Yankees dropped a 7-0 series finale to Baltimore on May 13 after a 6-2 win the prior day, while Blue Jays fell 7-6 in 10 innings to Tampa Bay on May 12 amid Kevin Gausman's milestone 2,000th strikeout. Key absences shape rotations and lineups: Toronto placed Max Scherzer on the 15-day injured list with forearm tendinitis and ankle inflammation, and New York misses Gerrit Cole (15-day IL), Giancarlo Stanton (10-day IL), and Jose Caballero (10-day IL with fractured finger), with Max Fried day-to-day on a sore elbow. Head-to-head history and Yankees' bullpen depth could prove decisive.
