Coinbase (COIN) shares, trading near $191 after a 5% surge on August 27, reflect trader focus on product expansion and crypto correlation amid weak Q2 results showing $1.22 billion revenue (down 18.5% YoY) and a $359 million net loss. Recent catalysts include tokenized U.S. stock trading via Base and Chainlink, plus Bitcoin- and USDC-backed mortgages launched with Better Mortgage, which avoid taxable events and broaden adoption. Bitcoin's move toward $78,000 and regulatory optimism around the Clarity Act have lifted volumes and sentiment, though the stock remains well below its $402 high and faces resistance near the 200-day moving average. Analysts maintain a buy consensus with an average $196.55 target, underscoring sensitivity to September trading activity and macro risk appetite.
