Recent National Weather Service and model guidance for Houston on September 3 point to a partly sunny day with southeast winds and a 30-40% chance of afternoon thunderstorms, supporting highs centered on 88-94°F. Persistent humidity and cloud cover from convective activity typically cap peak temperatures below clear-sky potential in this subtropical regime, aligning trader consensus with the 88-89°F bin as the leading outcome. Historical September 3 averages near 91°F provide context, yet the current pattern of scattered storms favors values in the upper 80s to low 90s over extremes. Updated NWS briefings and short-range model runs through September 2 will refine these probabilities ahead of resolution.
