Recent warm, humid conditions across the Southeast have kept overnight lows in Atlanta elevated above the long-term September average of about 67°F, with forecast models from the National Weather Service showing a narrow range centered on 71–73°F for the minimum on September 12. Persistent southerly flow and high dew points near 72°F limit radiational cooling under partly cloudy skies, while scattered thunderstorms may further moderate the drop by enhancing mixing. The tight split between the 70–71°F and 72–73°F bins reflects uncertainty in the precise timing of peak cooling overnight and any localized variations in cloud cover or wind, with official observations at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport serving as the resolution source.
