Trump's approval rating hovers near second-term lows around 33-39 percent amid the ongoing Iran conflict and elevated gas prices, creating a narrow weekly window where small shifts in polling samples could move the needle either direction. Recent surveys from mid-August show continued net disapproval near -20 points, with majorities opposing the war's costs and duration, though core Republican support remains stable above 70 percent in most tracking. Traders price near-even odds because approval metrics have shown limited week-to-week volatility despite broader downward pressure, while any de-escalation signals, economic data releases, or administration messaging on energy costs could produce short-term gains or further erosion depending on the week's events.
