**Forecast models and official guidance from the National Weather Service point to a high near 95°F in Houston on September 21, 2026, aligning with the market's strong 58% implied probability for the 94-95°F bin.** Recent observations show daytime highs in the mid-90s through mid-September, with September 19 reaching 95°F under mostly sunny skies and light southeast winds. Persistent high pressure and typical late-summer atmospheric conditions—warm Gulf moisture and minimal cloud cover—are expected to sustain temperatures in the upper 90s, though light and variable winds could limit mixing and keep readings from climbing into the mid- or upper 90s. Heat index values near 106°F reflect elevated humidity but do not directly affect the dry-bulb maximum used for market resolution. Short-term model consensus shows little spread, with no incoming fronts or tropical influences expected to alter the outcome before the daily high is recorded. Traders appear to be pricing the tight clustering around the NWS forecast of 95–96°F while assigning modest probability to modest deviations from model bias or local observation differences.

The resolution source for this market will be information from NOAA, specifically the highest reading under the "Temp" column for all times on this day, available here: https://www.weather.gov/wrh/timeseries?site=khou
This market will resolve off of the Hourly Data provided using the "Show Hourly Data" button.
If NOAA data for the observation date is unavailable by 11:59 PM ET on the day following the observation date, the Weather Underground Daily Observations table will be used as the resolution source.
In the event that there is no data for the observation date by 11:59 PM ET on the day following the observation date, this market will resolve to the lowest bracket.
To toggle between Fahrenheit and Celsius, click the "Switch to US Units w/ kts" button until the relevant table displays °F.
This market will resolve once the first data point for the following date has been published on the resolution source, or by 11:59 PM ET on the day following the observation date, whichever comes first.
The resolution source for this market measures temperatures to whole degrees Fahrenheit (eg, 21°F). Thus, this is the level of precision that will be used when resolving the market.
Revisions to temperatures recorded within this market's timeframe will be considered until the first datapoint for the following date has been published, after which any alterations will not be considered.
