Israeli officials have tied any broader IDF redeployment from positions beyond the Litani River to verifiable disarmament of Hezbollah and demonstrable Lebanese Armed Forces control, rather than fixed timelines. A June 2026 U.S.-brokered framework agreement established limited pilot zones for phased handover in two small areas, but Israeli leaders including Prime Minister Netanyahu and Defense Minister Katz have described these as minor tests that leave the main security zone intact until Hezbollah is neutralized. IDF Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir stated on September 16 that forces will hold forward positions south of the river to prevent rebuilding of capabilities, while recent artillery and airstrikes continue amid reports of bridge demolitions. U.S. statements have echoed the need for a stronger LAF before further steps. Trader consensus reflects these barriers, with markets pricing low probabilities for near-term full withdrawal absent major shifts in Hezbollah posture or LAF performance.

For this market to resolve to "Yes" it is sufficient that Israel announces its ground forces have withdrawn from all Lebanese territory beyond the Litani River, regardless of if some specified territory remains under their control or ground incursions by Israeli forces continue. However, an announcement of a planned or future withdrawal will not suffice.
The primary resolution source for this market will be information from the Israeli government, however an overwhelming consensus of credible reporting confirming that Israel has withdrawn may also be used.
