Sam Gilliam’s “Untitled” heads to auction on October 7, 2026, with trader consensus shaped by recent comparable results across major houses. Multiple 1970s–1990s canvases and works on paper have cleared between roughly $50,000 and $400,000 this year, with stronger prices for larger draped or collage pieces carrying solid provenance, while smaller monoprints and mixed-media studies often land in the low-to-mid five figures. Market-implied odds track these benchmarks closely, factoring in typical auction premiums, condition variables, and the broader secondary-market appetite for Washington Color School abstraction. Key upcoming catalysts include the release of the full lot details and any last-minute comparable sales before the hammer falls.
