Silver (XAG/USD) trades near $67–68 per ounce in mid-June 2026 after correcting from January peaks above $90, pressured by a firmer U.S. dollar and hotter-than-expected CPI prints that tempered near-term Fed rate-cut expectations. Persistent structural deficits—now in their sixth consecutive year—continue to anchor prices, driven by solar, EV, and electronics demand that outstrips mine supply growth. Traders are watching upcoming inflation releases, manufacturing PMI data, and any FOMC communications for shifts in monetary-policy pricing that could alter dollar direction and risk appetite. Industrial offtake remains the dominant long-term support, while short-term volatility hinges on Treasury yields and DXY movements.
