Recent polling for Berlin's September 20 Abgeordnetenhaus election shows the CDU holding a narrow but consistent edge over the Greens, with the CDU at 19-20% and the Greens at 16-17% across INSA, Infratest dimap, and Civey surveys in July-August 2026. The CDU's replacement of incumbent mayor Kai Wegner with Stefan Evers as top candidate after controversies over crisis management appears to have stabilized or slightly improved its position. The Greens, led by Werner Graf, have shown limited momentum amid a fragmented field where the Left and AfD compete closely for the lead. This sustained gap in vote intention underpins trader consensus favoring the CDU receiving more votes, though the overall race remains dynamic with coalition options still uncertain.
