Abe captured the W15 Fukui title in late May with straight-set wins, though she fell in the W100 Wuning opener in early June. Yamazaki, ranked around 489, has shown solid form in June with multiple victories at the W15 Tokyo event on outdoor hard, including a semifinal run. Both players compete regularly on the ITF circuit with comparable hard-court experience and no reported injuries or withdrawals affecting availability. Their limited prior encounters have come in doubles rather than singles, leaving head-to-head data minimal for this surface and format. The hard-court conditions in Taipei favor baseline consistency and serve reliability for both.
