This market will resolve according to the candidate who wins the nomination for the Democratic Party to contest the FL-20 congressional district seat in the U.S. House of Representatives in the 2026 midterm elections. The Democratic primary will take place on August 18, 2026. If no nominee is announced by November 3, 2026, 11:59 PM ET, this market will resolve to "Other". The resolution source for this market will be a consensus of official Democrat sources, including https://democrats.org/. Any replacement of the nominee before election day will not change the resolution of the market.Debbie Wasserman Schultz holds an overwhelming lead in the FL-20 Democratic primary as the longtime incumbent who relocated after redistricting eliminated her prior seat. Her commanding cash position—roughly $2.8 million on hand weeks before the August 18 vote—dwarfs the combined resources of her opponents, enabling sustained outreach in the Broward County-based district. Major editorial endorsements from the Miami Herald and Sun Sentinel in late July reinforced her positioning as the candidate with proven seniority on the House Appropriations Committee. Elijah Manley, the clearest alternative, remains a distant second amid limited name recognition and funding. The five-day window to election day leaves little room for late shifts absent major developments.
