The Piura provincial mayoral race on October 4, 2026, features a highly fragmented field of roughly 15–22 candidates from parties including Somos Perú, Alianza para el Progreso, and regional movements, preventing any single contender from consolidating broad support. Recent local surveys place Miguel Gerardo Cueva Celi in a narrow lead around 13–14%, followed by Jorge Flores Bazán and others in single digits, aligning with current trader pricing that shows no dominant favorite above 40%. Limited fresh polling data, scattered endorsements, and reports of candidates facing legal or record-related scrutiny sustain the close contest. Further shifts could arise from candidate withdrawals, alliance formations, or intensified campaigning in the final weeks.
